Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey with renowned wildlife photographer Ross Long and the Pressure Project in the breathtaking coastal paradise of Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Our exclusive humpback whale underwater photography workshop offers you the opportunity to witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of swimming with gentle giants in the deep blue. This is a unique experience limited to only six guests so that we can make the experience more intimate and capture photographs you've only dreamt of.

Every winter, over 40,000 Humpback Whales migrate from Antarctica up the East Coast of Australia to mate and birth their calves in warm tropical waters. September is the peak migration when newborn humpback calves will accompany their mothers as they head south. Witness their playful curiosity and acrobatics as they breach, slap, splash and swim below us in the deep blue.

This isn’t just a tour, it’s a full retreat, crafted for those seeking depth, connection, and adventure. With only 6 guests, you’ll enjoy daily time on the water, guided by skilled ocean lovers. Whether you’re snorkelling or joining from a freediving background, our team supports you through safe and ethical whale swims, helping you read whale behaviour and connect deeply with these incredible animals.

Outside of the water, this workshop includes a series of land-based sessions designed to elevate every part of your photography journey. Each day, we’ll dive into practical lessons on camera settings, composition, and how to anticipate and capture wildlife moments with precision and emotion. You’ll also receive hands-on guidance in editing, from creating natural, vibrant tones in Lightroom to developing a consistent visual style that reflects your personal brand. We’ll explore how to curate your images for social media, grow an engaged audience, and share meaningful stories that connect people to the ocean. Whether you're looking to refine your skills or build your presence as a photographer, these sessions are designed to be inspiring, supportive, and packed with value.

If you’re looking for a powerful, nature-based escape, this is it. This Humpback Whale Workshop is the first of its kind to offer a dedicated, all-inclusive humpback whale swim Sunshine Coast experience.

Midweek, we’ll venture out to the stunning Flinders Reef, one of the healthiest reefs in Queensland for a dive with grey nurse sharks. Afternoons are spent in relaxed, land-based education sessions where we’ll review your footage, refine your editing skills, and dive deep into storytelling techniques.
